On August 5th Sherlock Bones was contacted by owners sister of Nyxxi.  Sherlock’s reached to No Paws Left Behind and together we started to search for 2 dogs that were supposedly in a car accident and took off with leashes attached on Abbott and Lake in Orchard Park.
Sherlock’s got the contact info for the dog sitter Andrea White.  Things did not add up from the beginning but we continued to search.  
On August 6th We started making contact with Andrea through text messages.  
The family of Nyxxi was getting excuse after excuse from Andrea as to why they could not pick her up thier dog. Nyxxi’s owners then knew something wasn’t right. 
The conversation between Andrea White and both trap groups went until August 9th when Andrea stopped all communications. 
With no sightings and then fake sightings that were called in, A volunteer did a little digging and her named popped up on another stolen dog case back in 2020. 
That changed our course of action. Volunteers then started handing out flyers in Bowmansville area and speaking with neighbors.  The neighbors really enlightened  us on what was going on at Andrea White’s home.  

On August 17th We were able to collect enough evidence to turn over to Lancaster Police Department for the judge to sign the warrant .  Lancaster PD then raided the residence under a no knock search warrant , where Nyxxi was finally recovered along with 14 other dogs.  
Nixie suffered multiple injuries during the time with Andrea white.

Laws need to be changed and penalties need to be more severe . Nyxxi is just one of thousand possibly millions of dogs that are abused, neglected, and stolen.
