JUSTICE FOR MYRON!!
JUSTICE FOR MYRON!!
The Issue
Justice for MYRON DUPREE EAST II. Demand the CALCASIEU PARISH District Attorney File Murder Charges Now The Petition Goal We are petitioning Stephen C. Dwight, the District Attorney of Calcaseiu Parish, to immediately review the evidence, present this case to a Grand Jury, and file formal murder charges against the suspect who took the life of Myron Dupree East II. The Situation On May 8th 2026, Myron Dupree East II was tragically shot and killed in VINTON, Louisiana. The suspect was initially arrested by law enforcement, but has since been released back into our community with zero formal charges filed against them. Why Self-Defense Does Not Apply Initial reports and evidence indicate that Myron was entirely unarmed and was shot in the back of the head at close range with no defensive wounds. Under Louisiana law (R.S. 14:20), a self-defense claim requires an immediate, reasonable threat of death or great bodily harm. A person who is unarmed and facing away from a shooter does not pose an imminent threat. Shooting an unarmed person from behind completely fails the legal test of proportionate and necessary force. This was not self-defense—this was an act of violence that demands accountability. Our Demand We, the community, family, and supporters of Myron Dupree East II, demand that District Attorney Stephen C. Dwight and the CALCASIEU Parish District Attorney's Office: Prioritize this case immediately and expedite the screening of all forensic, ballistic, and autopsy evidence. Present the case to a Grand Jury without further delay to secure a formal indictment for homicide. Issue a warrant for the re-arrest of the suspect so they can face justice in a court of law. MYRON cannot speak for themselves. We must be their voice. Please sign this petition to demand that our justice system holds killers accountable and protects our community. DO NOT DONATE MONEY. MONEY DOES NOT GO TO CAUSE. PETITION SEES 0% OF DONATION.
