Petition updateJUSTICE FOR MURPHThe battle continues...

Hey guys, Kaitlyn here‍♀️

I first want to apologize for the scarcity of updates. Truth is, I've been eagerly awaiting the day I could let you know our efforts and Murph’s justice, had made progress- much like a young child anticipates their birthday or Christmas. I kept thinking...tomorrow we’ll get some news...tomorrow will be the day we’ll start to see some accountability... tomorrow the system will understand their victim, and get as angry as you and I have been.‍♀️ Unfortunately, that day still eludes us, and while still being deep in the throes of grief, that disappointment has compounded an already heavy burden.

It's excruciating to accept that nearly two years later both of his killers remain free.

Chapman, despite her many actions in allegiance with Robinson (leaving the scene, returning to help load Murph in the back of Robinson’s vehicle—essentially ensuring he didn't receive life-saving measures, not calling for assistance, never asking for help from the Virginia Beach PD officer who addressed them at a stoplight due to Robinson’s expired vehicle registration, aiding Robinson by lying to former coworkers at the very ill-equipped hospital they took Murph to after hiding him in their backseat for nearly two hours and lying in detectives face under the shameless guise of Samaritans), has still faced ZERO judicial consequences. Each of these actions raises obvious doubts about Chapman's claim of being a mere “passenger.” But, together, they paint a damning picture of conspiracy and a deliberate cover-up. Yet, the Commonwealth has thus far failed to acknowledge her actions for the willful, and intentional criminality they demonstrate. Lawful citizens instinctively seek help after accidents. Here, the opposite happened. This raises a critical question: why invite someone home and then participate in their murder shortly after? These facts raise a disturbing possibility: was this premeditated in advance of when they returned to the scene and loaded Murph’s body in their vehicle? While the idea that Murph was deliberately set up is horrific, the lack of answers regarding their actions and clear disregard for seeking timely medical care forces us to consider all possibilities, no matter how difficult. When it came to his service to this country, Murph never cut corners. We continue to ask that you stand with us as we remain steadfast in our demand that his case and justice be given the same commitment.

As for Robinson, his charges of felony hit and run, involuntary manslaughter, and second-degree murder remain unchanged. The trial was scheduled for April 30, 2024, but that has been postponed, with no new date set that we know. Interestingly enough, though, it seems a leopard can change its spots. At the third revocation/compliance hearing, the judge seemingly found the cure for Robinson’s consistent violations—it was simple too, just a curfew. Mind you that was already after an emergency motion to remove his SCRAM bracelet (it irritated him so badly he had to seek medical attention shortly after the device detected alcohol use ) was granted. Call me biased but, we’re talking about the same defendant who was previously caught attempting to falsify his urine screen, and tried to blame a dirty tox report on a “friend’: claiming they had no idea drugs were in the edible and whose family asked for leniency because it was the holidays, and those were tough on HIM. HMMMM.....Nope,  I don't believe for a second the behavior has changed. Miraculously, though, we’ve heard of ZERO compliance issues. Now, I am from Vegas and have seen some pretty magical things, still, I find it hard to believe even Houdini or Copperfield could make a leopard change its spots.

Murph’s representation has changed twice since it began;  I am sure you can imagine how difficult that has been for us. We had a rapport of regular communication with the previous lead attorney, and things have very much changed.

As if those truths were not disheartening enough, believe it or not...BOTH Chapman and Robinson continue to practice nursing. While the "law" (or, as it seems, the illusion of) mandates consequences for healthcare professionals who violate their oath. Similarly to their freedom, neither defendant has faced such repercussions.  Both retain their nursing licenses, and enjoy the public trust and social pedestal associated with public service. The community is continuing to be duped.

Specifically, Virginia law prohibits practicing nursing while facing charges, OR, under investigation for barrier crimes. As written, their ability to continue practicing is contradictory to  Code § 54.1-2008.  (see page 12)  If you believe this is a violation, file a complaint with the Department of Public Health. Perhaps if enough of us bring this ridiculousness to the attention of those entrusted to maintain order and enforce regulations- someone will?

While I know this isn’t the update we'd all hoped for, I remain confident that with your continued support, we WILL achieve justice for Murph. Please keep sharing the petition, speaking his name, and celebrating his life.

Again, thank you for your unwavering support through this challenging time. We understand progress has been agonizingly slow, but every signature and share keeps Murph's memory alive and refuels our resolve.
God Bless
