On December 9th, 2021 our whole lives changed drastically. Monique “Ceci” Guzman Gonzalez was taken from us by a monster who failed to stop at a school bus crossing. Monique was only 9 years old at the time. A beautiful innocent child who was walking HOME with her little brother. She never made it to another day of school, another Christmas. She never made it home. Her mother never got to say goodbye. The justice system has failed us over and over with postponements with excuses for another date. This monster still roams free, still operates a moving vehicle, still risking the lives of other children. The city has failed us as well. Emails go unanswered. Calls never returned. All we want is justice. For other kids to be safe for a sidewalk to be put in place and for this murderer to serve time for the life he took. Please help us, please show our children that we are fighting for their safety.
