Justice for mom bear Hope killed for entering a pharmacy, and for abandoned cub Chance

GLOBAL NEWS reported a mother bear Hope who was murdered for peacefully walking into a pharmacy and then leaving.
No aggression. No threat. Just a bear navigating the human footprint. For that, she was shot. According to Lesley Fox of the animal rights group The Furbearers, the mom Hope was gentle, sniffed around, and she and her cub were very polite bears who did no damage. They left the store on their own but the mom was tranquilized then killed because she is an urban black bear. The COS can't seem to wrap their heads around the concept of urban wildlife. Urban black bears have never killed or seriously injured a human. The mom and cub, Hope and Chance were gentle bears who just happened to be urbanites. They even became TikTok influencers for their adorable visit at the pharmacy.
Her tiny cub Chance - terrified, newly orphaned, and entirely dependent - was not taken to Critter Care rehab. She wasn’t even evaluated and simply put, she was’t given a chance at survival and tragically -she will die. Instead, officials abandoned her in a forested area and called that “management." That is not the management the public demand for our bears. This family was given a death sentence and this action was then disguised as procedure. Holly Reisner of the North Shore Black Bear League spoke out, stating the mom and cub were gentle, posed no threat or interest in humans, and were just looking for food. The video went viral. Holly Reisner was traumatized by the killing, and the pharmacy staff were too traumatized to even speak. Killing bears is abusive to both the bears and to the humans who love them.
This is not responsible wildlife management but a cruel war against our previous wildlife. British Columbia provincial system is choosing convenience over compassion, optics over ethics, and cruelty over the hard but rewarding work of coexistence.
A mother bear died for nothing.
Her cub died for nothing.
And the public is expected to accept this as normal. We will not.
We can't and we won't. We will not back down until our bears are safe.
The Province is exterminating our bears, and this action will not go unanswered by the public.
We stand united on this.
