Thank you for your continued support in signing and sharing the petition for Justice For Missing Child Oakley Carlson!
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Justice For Oakley team is committed to sharing information about child abuse in the United States and advocating for children from Washington, like Oakley Carlson, who have been failed by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families (WA DCYF). We currently have 3723 signatures and our next goal is to reach 5000 signatures by the end of this month in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Oakley suffered horrific child abuse while in the care of her biological parents, Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, and WA DCYF did nothing to protect her.
Sadly, Oakley is not the first child to be failed by WA DCYF. In 2022, 85 children died while WA DCYF was involved with their care. Additionally, 62 children were victims of near fatality incidents. Many of these cases involve child abuse, child neglect and parental substance abuse. To read the 2022 Child Fatalities and Near Fatalities Reviews Report, please click here.
In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, please help us demand that Governor Inslee call for an immediate secondary independent agency review of Oakley’s WA DCYF case. By signing and sharing this petition you are not only being a voice for Oakley but for ALL children who have been failed by this state agency.
Thank you for your support!
