A Norfolk police officer shot a defenseless dog in the middle of the street July 16,2012. The officers appeared to be undercover and searching the neighborhood when a white pitbull approached them in the middle of the intersection with her owner not far behind. When Chopper came within 6-8 feet the two officers both officers pulled their weapons and one fired. This dogs tail was wagging so hard it made her whole body wag, she never showed any sign of aggression towards the officers she just wanted to play. After being shot she ran home and the two officer stayed put looking as if nothing happened. Other Norfolk officers showed up but no one seemed to care. Thankfully a bistandard witnessed it all and helped get Chopper to the hospital.
