Justice for Milli Vanilli: Release the "Back and in Attack" master tapes to Fab Morvan!
Das Problem
Over 35 years ago, Milli Vanilli was made the scapegoat for the greed and deception of an entire industry. While the masterminds in the background made millions and escaped unscathed, Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan carried the entire burden of worldwide ridicule. For Rob, who was psychologically broken, this merciless pressure ended in an immeasurable tragedy in 1998.
Recent pop history, successful feature films, and global documentaries have fundamentally rehabilitated their public image. The world now knows: Rob and Fab were not perpetrators, but victims. They possessed genuine talent, wanted to sing for themselves from the very beginning – and they could.
Although they had already recorded their own album as "Rob & Fab" in 1993, the true, unfinished masterpiece remains under lock and key in the archives to this day: The 1998 album "Back and in Attack."
This was the long-awaited, professionally and highly produced comeback album under the direction of Frank Farian – but this time featuring the real, mature studio vocals of Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan. It represents the final, historically most valuable musical legacy of Rob Pilatus before his tragic passing.
We demand:
Sony Music & Farian Heirs must stop treating these historic recordings as worthless, dead corporate assets in your archives. After all the agony Rob and Fab had to endure, releasing this material is the only logical, final act of restitution.
We are not demanding immediate commercial exploitation by a major corporation. We demand the unconditional handover of the physical and digital master tapes to Fab Morvan and Rob's sister, Carmen Pilatus.
Only the surviving artist and the family of the deceased have the moral right to decide the fate and management of this deeply personal life's work. Show respect, humanity, and late historical responsibility.
Give Rob and Fab their real voices back!
