The Issue

Mallory Lauryn-Rose Wade was born on June 18, 2020, during the height of the pandemic. Her birth was difficult, and she sustained injuries that led to a diagnosis of Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Despite her condition, she was a typically healthy little girl who deserved to grow up surrounded by love and care.

Instead, Mallory was neglected.  She was enrolled in preschool at age three, where staff witnessed the conditions she was living in and the state she arrived in. They made multiple reports to Child Protective Services.

Despite these repeated warnings, CPS failed to intervene.

On the night of May 26 into the early morning of May 27, 2025, Mallory's mother was at work. A man, described as her mother's boyfriend, was left in charge of her care. Mallory died that night. She was alone, neglected.

It has been more than a year. The investigation remains ongoing, and no charges have been filed.

We are asking for:

  • A full and thorough investigation into Mallory's death

  • Criminal charges for those responsible for her care the night she died

  • A formal review of how CPS handled the repeated reports made about Mallory's home life

  • Legislative reform to strengthen protections for disabled children in neglect investigations

Mallory was four years old. She never got to blow out five candles. She deserved a lifetime.

Please sign and share her story. She deserves justice.

There is currently no law that gives disabled children special protection or urgency in CPS neglect cases. Mallory's Law would change that — creating faster timelines, specialized caseworker training, and heightened accountability whenever a disabled child is the subject of a neglect investigation. Mallory deserved that protection. No child should have to wait as long as she did for someone to act.

Thank you for all of your support! We are almost to 100 signatures!
