Why We Are Petitioning
Maggy is safe today. However, her current safety does not erase the allegations concerning what she may have experienced.
Multiple videos have been publicly shared that appear to document alleged acts of animal abuse occurring on multiple occasions. The material has raised serious concerns within the community and has led many people to call for the allegations to be thoroughly investigated and addressed through the legal system.
At the center of this case is an animal who cannot speak for herself. Maggy cannot tell the court what happened to her, explain what she experienced, or ask that her case be taken seriously.
We can speak up on her behalf.
This petition is a peaceful request for accountability through the established legal process. It is not an attempt to interfere with the courts, determine the outcome of a criminal proceeding, or encourage harassment, threats, intimidation, or retaliation against any individual.
What We Are Asking
We respectfully ask the appropriate authorities to:
Thoroughly investigate the allegations and pursue the charges in Case No. CF-2026-648 where supported by the evidence and applicable law.
Carefully consider all relevant and lawfully obtained evidence, including the multiple videos concerning the alleged incidents.
Recognize the seriousness of allegations involving repeated acts of animal cruelty.
Pursue appropriate legal accountability if the defendant is found guilty.
Consider all lawful protections available to help prevent animals from being subjected to future harm, where applicable.
Our request is straightforward: We want Maggy’s case to receive the thorough investigation, consideration, and attention it deserves under the law.
More Than One Dog
Although Maggy is the reason this community is coming together, this petition represents a larger concern about how allegations of animal cruelty are handled.
Animals depend on people for their care, safety, and well-being. When credible allegations of abuse arise, they deserve to be taken seriously and investigated through the proper legal channels.
Supporting justice for Maggy does not mean taking the law into our own hands. It means asking those responsible for enforcing the law to examine the evidence, follow the legal process, and pursue appropriate action when the evidence and applicable law support it.
