🐾 Justice for Leonard and Me – Crown Counsel Must Press Charges for Vancouver Assault
Petition created by Angelina and her cat Leonard
On April 9th , I was violently assaulted in Vancouver on the front steps of my apartment. It happened in front of multiple bystanders, was captured on video, and resulted in arrests at the scene by the Vancouver Police. Despite all of this, the BC Crown Counsel decided not to press charges, citing “insufficient evidence.”
That decision is devastating — not just to me, but to public trust in the justice system.
My cat Leonard was with me during the attack and is still traumatized. I still haven’t been able to return to work due to the injuries I sustained. This was not a random misunderstanding. It was a targeted act of violence, and the individuals involved have a known pattern of similar behavior. Leonard is now so traumatized he spends most of his time hiding under the bed and shaking. We are asking Crown Councel to take another look at this case and press charges. The whole assault was caught on video, multiple witnesses (one of them was also assaulted while they called 911). The police arrived within 2 minutes and the assailants were arrested at the scene. How can Crown say there is not enough evidence? What more could they possibly want? Please sign and share
