Justice for Lacey Fletcher

Justice for Lacey Fletcher
The Issue
Lacey Fletcher was a 36 year old autistic woman from Louisiana who had suffered from severe medical neglect at the hands of her parents.
Around Lacey's teen years, her social anxiety exacerbated and caused her to become reclusive. She became too afraid to even want to leave her living room. Instead of getting Lacey the proper care she needed, Clay and Sheila Fletcher decided to neglect their daughter for over a decade.
[Graphic description ahead]
They had left Lacey to lay on the couch for 12 years without being properly fed or cleaned. One would obviously think that if your child was refusing to get up, you'd try to pick them up or get them some sort of medical attention. However, Clay and Sheila just let Lacey to rot. She would defecate and urinate in the spot she sat, and was incredibly malnourished. When she finally had passed from a decade of torment, she weighed 96 pounds and had sores and insect bites all over her body. Her death was a combination of sepsis and severe malnutrition.
Clay and Sheila Fletcher were able to leave jail on a bail bond, and as of writing this there is no trial date. This is completely unacceptable due to the horrid nature that their daughter had died. We will no longer allow disabled people to be treated as disposable waste instead of living, breathing humans.
