PLEASE NOTE: This petition was written by supporters and was not written by or requested by Desiree and her Attorney.  This is mereley a show of support by citizens who would like to see this case be heard without a two year delay.

We the undersigned have great interest in case no. 1206-06956; Desiree Young V. Terri Moulton Horman, being heard without delay of abatement. On Friday, June 4, 2010, 7 year old Kyron Richard Horman went missing from Skyline Elementary School in Portland, OR. He has not been seen or heard from since.

The kidnapping and possible murder of a young child raise the highest potential interest of the public. It has been 26 months since Kyron disappeared. There has yet to be answers as to what happened to Kyron. There has yet to be answers and relief for the suffering and grief of Kyron Horman’s biological parents Desiree Young and Kaine Horman. There has yet to be answers and relief for the suffering and grief of the public. There has yet to be action taken by our criminal justice system.

This civil suit is the first filed under Oregon’s landmark 2005 child abduction statute, Senate Bill 1041, known as “Aaron’s Law”, which provides child abduction victims with new tools when the criminal and family law systems are unable to move forward, and yet there is a missing child. Under Aaron’s Law, Oregon became the first and (so far) only state in the nation where abducting a child (violating Oregon’s Custodial Interference in the First Degree statue) creates a civil cause of action. Thus, everything that happens going forward in the Kyron Horman case will be first in the nation.

The Judge will have factors to consider when deciding whether to issue a stay in a civil case. One of the balancing factors include, public's interest.

We the undersigned have great interest in case no. 1206-06956 being heard without delay of abatement.

We want our interest to be properly taken into consideration.

Please support Desiree Young and her attorney Elden Rosenthal to move forward with their civil suit without further delays by signing this petition.
