In Victoria, Australia, a koala was brutally killed on King Street in Koroit just 3 days ago. This shocking act has horrified not only the local community but also wildlife and koala lovers worldwide.

Wildlife rescuers acted immediately, but the koala had to be euthanized to be released from tremendous injuries and the perpetrator(s) remain at large. The severity and public nature of this crime demand urgent action.

We call on the Victorian Government, local authorities, and animal protection organizations to:

• Fully investigate and prosecute the responsible individual(s) to the maximum extent of the law.
• Strengthen penalties for animal cruelty to prevent future tragedies.
• Support wildlife rescue organizations and protect vulnerable native species like koalas.
• Every signature sends a strong message: Victoria must act decisively to protect its wildlife and hold cruel perpetrators accountable.
