Two-month-old Kayson Flowers should have had a lifetime ahead of him. Instead, his life was stolen. Kayson was returned to his mother bruised, cold, and unresponsive after spending a week with his father. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, caused by multiple injuries from child abuse. Detectives told the family Kayson had been dead for hours before he was brought back.

Yet no one has been charged.

How many more children need to suffer before we act with urgency? Kayson’s family and the Roseland community are grieving, demanding answers, and calling for justice. This baby’s death cannot fade into silence or bureaucracy.

We are calling on the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County State’s Attorney to treat Kayson’s death with the seriousness it demands. A child was killed. The public deserves transparency, accountability, and swift action to ensure whoever harmed Kayson is brought to justice.
