Justice for Jonathan Adams
Justice for Jonathan Adams
The Issue
How can a co-defendant admit to the murder and receive a plea of 25 years with a history of a lengthy criminal record, yet Jonathan (who admittedly was with him) was also charged with murder and received a life sentence plus 20years! All this was known from the very beginning. No attorney has been able to explain this to us. Jonathan has served over 15 years and has been denied earlier release from the governor. Please help get the word out that this should not be allowed.
We are petitioning for the early release of Jonathan Adams. We believe than Jonathan deserves an earlier release date than he was given due to the facts that:
We do not believe he should have to serve more time than his co-defendants when he was the least involved, which was known before his trial. This was Jonathan's first offense while his co-defendants has lengthy records and received 25 years at 85% with plea agreements. Jonathan was never allowed a plea agreement and received a life sentence plus 25 years.
Jonathan was out on bond for almost 5 years before his trial. He obtained his degree's in Residential, Mechanical and Structural Steel Drafting. He was working full time working his way up from a labor position to a shop foreman. He has given his life to Christ and became a member of Alice Bell Baptist Church. Since being incarcerated he has maintained his involvement with bible studies and received many certificates for the ones he has completed. He uses what he has learned since changing his life to try and help others not be on the path he was once on.
He has the full support from family, friends and church family.
Jonathan has never denied his involvement and continued remorse for being involved. In no way do we want to take away from the tragedy of the crime and the loss of life.
Please give Jonathan a chance to be a productive member of society. He has served over 15years of his sentence without any write ups and has maintained employment while incarcerated.
Please help send Jonathan home. Our goal is to change mandatory laws and help others stay on a productive path.
