Justice for Jimmie Sanders

The Issue

We are calling on the Outagamie County District Attorneys office to reopen the investigation into the unjust murder of Jimmie Sanders.

On May 21st, 2017 killer cop Jay Steinke responded to a report of a bar fight at Jack’s Apple Pub. He entered the bar with his firearm drawn, and immediately shot four bullets into the crowd. Despite at least four people standing between him, and his intended target. An internal report states the fatal shooting of Sanders resulted from Steinke being pushed by patrons trying to flee the bar as he opened fire. Steinke never announced his presence, or gave any commands before firing. He struck Jimmie Sanders in the lower back, causing Sanders to suffer, before succumbing to his wounds. Jimmie was simply an innocent bystander, and later became a hero when he attempted to de-escalate the scene before police arrived.

Steinke was able to stay on the force, and retire years after he took Sanders' life. The Sanders family is attempting to sue Steinke. Steinke thinks he deserves "qualified immunity", for committing this murder. He has also claimed that none of Jimmie Sanders' constitutional rights were violated when he was murdered for being an innocent bystander.

There is more than enough evidence to demonstrate that Steinke used excessive force, and put the lives of many citizens in danger on the night of May 21st, 2017.
