As many of you know Mississippi has been corrupted for many years. In fact, the corruption of Mississippi goes all the way back dating to the early 1980's. Corrupt Authorities within the state's Governmental Judicial System. Many Families across Mississippi has not only had to deal with unjustified actions of the economic and environmental system for their families. But also, their safety and protection.

Now, we all have our own perspectives and personal views/outputs on what Law Enforcement and Legal Authorities figures are in our own sight. And what I do know is LE is just one in many different agencies we precisely expect protection and perseverance from I mean if we can't rely on Authorities who are sworn in under oath and vowed freely to be the righteous input into any situation then who do we rely on?

Why does it take for tragedy to happen for our people to gain just a little acknowledgement? Why does it take for not only tragedy but a public uproar on top of tragedy to seek Justice? Something that is supposed to be pure, genuine, and rightful? Something that is supposed to be without prejudice. If there is no Justice, rightfully so there shouldn't be any peace!

And that, is why the Lewis Family and I have decided to start this petition. With so many civilians in Mississippi as a whole scared to speak out and terrified of what may happen or what type of harassment/punishment they will receive just for asking and expecting something that they're entitled to. Many homicides and various other criminal cases go unsounded when dealing with the Mississippi Capital Police Departments. Just like one of many 25yr. old Jaylen Lewis of Jackson Mississippi, son of Arkela Lewis gunned down execution style at what was reported by MBI "A standard traffic stop" which wasn't the case at all. On Sept. 25th, 2022, around 9:30p.m. Jaylen Lewis and his friend girl left his house at 2450 Williamson Ave. when they were followed by an unmarked unidentified vehicle with no lights on, on the vehicle. Jaylen and his friend in this timeframe noticed to be being followed and Jaylen automatically retrieves his cellphone and calls his male friend to alert him of what's transpiring for him to start heading towards his location.  Approximately 3 mins later as Jaylen is approaching a stop light at the intersection of Mayes St. and West St. in North Jackson both Jaylen and his friend realizes a white male (unidentified) standing at the traffic light with a gun drawn. With an unmarked car with no visible lights still behind them and a white male standing on foot outside the car. Jaylen's next and final words were "ohhh sh**" as they both notice the white male taking stance and in position to fire shots directly through Jaylen's windshield striking him in the head and brutally murdering him. Still unidentified at this moment as the officer starts to approach the car and retrieve Jaylen from the driver's seat. The other officer in which was still behind them in the unmarked car then proceeds to turn on the lights and get out to tell the friend to exit the car and is in fact which the very moment she learned they were Law Enforcement. This is NOT ok! And in fact, to add insult to the injury unfortunately the nightmare doesn't stop there. Today is Jan. 18th, 2023, and the family has not only not received an Incident report, but they also haven't received an explanation. The Department of Public Safety stated the officers were placed on administrative leave due to ongoing investigation on Sept. 30th, 2022, and upon checking receipts the officers involved has actually been brought back to work. We all know in that manner some type of investigation has to have been done. But i think one of MANY questions is exactly what investigation was done that the family wasn't made aware of because according to Capital Police Department the investigation is still ongoing. This is very unacceptable, and this family and Mother deserves answers about her ONLY son.
