Justice For Jason Walton wrongfully convicted

Justice For Jason Walton wrongfully convicted

The Issue

Jason Walton, also known as Jay by close friends and family. Was born and raised in Los Angeles CA.  Like most boys growing up, Jason’s hobbies and true passion was his love for cars.  Mr. Walton had dreams and aspirations of becoming an attorney, but all of that would change. After a miscarriage of justice from a wrongful conviction.

On November 17th 2005, Jason Walton was  taken in to Wilshire division, Los Angeles police station and Questioned for hours. Mr. Walton had no prior knowledge or involvement with the crime in question that detectives were accusing him of. After many hours of questioning, Mr. Walton was transferred to Southwest police station and placed in a cell. Mr. Walton believed because of his innocence, that soon the truth would be revealed. That he was in no way involved or knew anything of the crime in question. Mr. Walton felt justice would prevail, and he would soon be released. Mr. Walton was questioned on his alibi for the night in question. But couldn’t fully account for his wearabouts for the duration of the day in question . Mr. Walton then called his then girlfriend (Amber) to let her know that he had been arrested and the false allegations made against  him. Jason and Amber were able to recall the night in question. As stated before Mr. Walton had no involvement or knowledge of the night in question. Mr Walton didn't know the time in which the incident occurred on November 14th 2005. Mr Walton knew only of  the information of which detectives had disclosed to him.

Mr. Walton then girlfriend (Amber) helped Jason remember. That on the night in question, Mr. Walton was with a few friends at a local restaurant “Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles” . Mr. Walton then asked Amber to call the restaurant that Could possibly bare witnesses of proof to Jason’s solid alibi. Jason was a regular at the “Roscoes’s Chicken & Waffle” restaurant. Mr. Walton’s Then girlfriend (Amber) then proceeded to call the restaurant , explained the situation and allegations made by detectives. And asked management, if there was a chance that they may have had any Surveillance Footage from restaurant from the night in question. The manager quickly said yes, and then proceeded to search and  retrieve surveillance footage.

Roscoes’s Chicken & Waffle” restaurant manager pulled up the footage and began throughly watching the tape. And later on revealed to Amber that he does in fact have footage of Mr. Walton on the night in question. Amber then related the news to Mr. Walton.  Mr. Walton then felt a scene of relieve, had now had proof of his Alibi That Would Bare witness to his innocence.  Amber then went on to ask if she could have the surveillance tape. The restaurant manager agreed, and assured  Amber that he would hold on to the tape and keep it safe until it could be picked up.  That same night Amber went to the restaurant and retrieved the security surveillance tape.

Mr. Walton’s family quickly found an attorney. The Surveillance tape was handed over to the attorney, and the Walton family felt as if everything will soon be fine.  The evidence and proof as it relates to Jason's Alibi.  Was not limited to the restaurant’s security surveillance footage.  Mr. Walton also had multiple eyewitnesses, who were not only able to testify in trial that they saw Jason on the night in question.  But they were also able to identify themselves in the footage interacting with Jason.

Mr. Walton’s cellphone pinging off of a tower one block North Of “Roscoe's Chicken N' Waffles”. Further proving Mr Walton’s Alibi  Days prior to the shooting, the day of, and days leading up to his arrest, Jason's cell phone told a story of where he was, and most importantly where he wasn't. There was never a time Jason's phone went silent, his movements were mapped out. Never was Jason in the area of the shooting.

The district attorney gave multiple theory's to paint a picture of Jason Walton as an heartless murderer. In the hopes of scaring the jury into thinking that Jason might  have done this crime.   There was a carnival worker who testified Against Jason in his trial.  Who admitted he was arrested in the North Carolina, and transferred to California for the purpose of testifying against Jason Walton. And was promised that the Detectives would speak with a judge about clearing charges against him.  The witness initially told the detective he didn't see anything.  This same carnival worker gave a statement that Also Proves Jason Walton Could Not Have Been Involved In The Crime.

Yes you’re reading this correctly.  The eyewitness knew that Jason couldn’t  be the shooter, because the victim who also said he believes Jason shot him, was standing on the corner when he was shot, and the person who shot him was standing 1 foot in front of him when he was shot. The entrance to the carnival where the Eyewitness Claim to  have saw Jason at the time of the shooting was in the middle of the street. No person can be at 2 places at the same time.

The overall goal for this petition, is for the Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon to review and reopen Jason Walton’s Case. So that he could receive the justice that is long over due and deserved of him. Mr. Walton has a 15 year old son, who is deprived of his father’s presence due to a wrongful conviction and miscarriage of justice. I thank you all for your time and attention.
