Jamila’s 4-year-old son and 2-year-old son were sodomized (sexually abused) severally by her neighbour. Despite the evidence from the medical examinations that were performed on her children by medical specialists, her search for justice and support from the police has yielded no results. Out of desperation, she attempted to throw her 6-month-old baby off the newly opened flyover in Kampala to attract attention from the public and authorities to the matter. After multiple attempts, Jamila has finally opened a police case against the perpetrators at Kajjansi Police Station. She is in the process of filing a court case against the perpetrators as she seeks justice for her children, who are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and other children who are prone to sexual abuse.

Section 129(1) of the Penal code act provides that any person who has carnal knowledge with another person who is below the age of 18 commits a felony known as defilement and is liable to Life imprisonment.
However Section 129(4) lays down the aggravating factors for defilement which includes the age of the victims (below 14years), HIV status of the offender , where offender is a person in authority or guardian, where the victim is a person with disability and where the offender is a serial offender.

Based on the narrations that the perpetrator has sodomized both children not once and not twice it makes him a serial offender, the victims are aged 4years and 2 years old respectively.

Bringing the perpetrator of this offence to justice will save other children and the community from sexual predators like the suspect.
