Justice for Hunter & Lue

Hunter was only 8 months old.
Lue was only 7 months old.

According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, both kittens suffered devastating head injuries after being struck with a closed fist by Moises L. Germanguerrero.

Hunter died from his injuries. Months later, Lue suffered severe head trauma and ultimately had to be euthanized because of the severity of his injuries.

Germanguerrero pleaded guilty to Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, a felony, and was sentenced in June 2023 to five years of probation and a five-year prohibition on animals.

But there’s something important you should know:

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office asked the court for a lifetime ban on him owning or caring for animals. The court instead imposed a five-year prohibition.

His probation has not yet expired.

We are asking the Erie County District Attorney’s Office to review whether there is any lawful way to strengthen or extend the animal prohibition and, if legally possible, seek permanent protection preventing him from owning, possessing, caring for, or controlling animals.

This isn’t about revenge. It’s about protecting animals who cannot protect themselves.

Hunter and Lue deserved better.
