The Issue
STOP THE CRUELTY!
Every day in our community, innocent animals are being abused, tortured, and left to suffer alone.
Just recently, Officer Horner discovered three dogs dumped in crates on a desolate road in 95°F heat. Two of those dogs died a horrific, painful, suffering death from dehydration and heat stroke! The third, Horner, who is named after the officer that found them, was so weak and neglected—BCS of 1, dehydration, and pneumonia—that he's now fighting for his life!
This isn't a one-off horror story—it’s happening almost daily, and the current laws let offenders off with mere slaps on the wrist! This must end!
We demand the passage of Baby’s Law, including:
Mandatory minimum prison sentences (no jail, no probation) for any intentional cruelty resulting in injury or death.
No plea bargains for animals who suffer or die under abuse.
A statewide registry of convicted animal abusers.
Fines that go directly to shelters and rescues that care for the victims.
Judicial accountability: Judges must explain light sentences in writing.
We stand with Horner—and every animal left voiceless. We stand with Baby’s Law.
