Today May 11th 2024, was a normal day for me and my family, until 5:15pm around dinner time. My husband was outside with our dearest dog Halo, he was preparing dinner for me and my children. At 5:16pm our family is broken. Halo snuck over to the neighbors yard and he shot her directly in her chest and ended her life instantly. He showed no remorse, instead he told us his plan was to shoot our Halo if she came onto his property. He is a dog owner himself, how can a man own a dog and kill another? How can you be so heartless to do that to a loving animal. My Halo, my sweet Halo is such a friendly, loving animal. My children, my husband and myself are devastated. We called the police and they told us we cannot press charges, how is that possibly ok? How can we not be able to do anything about this? Of course the police sided with the neighbor because the neighbor himself is an officer. What if he wasn’t? Would this have ended differently? Would we have been able to press charges? The police all gathered and laughed at my husband while he was mourning and screaming. How could you laugh after murdering an innocent animal? How could you shoot fire so freely with children in our neighborhood, let alone he had children inside his home. How was my small dog such a threat to you? My Halo was by the fence, trying to escape and he shot her before she could get out. My heart is broken, so so broken from this. I will get justice for my Halo, I know I will. God does not like evil, and what he witnessed tonight was the devil after an angel.
