The case were Dustin Cooper was tried and convicted of murder, was an unfair and unjust trial. We are asking for you to sign the petition to bring awareness to the legal systems failures. We are requesting a new trial, so that he can be tried fairly. The jury was made up of all white jurors and of  the jurors 10 of them were over the age of 50. They were also from the small towns that make up Vermillion County Illinois. The one black juror that was in the jury pool, the attorney general went and asked the police about his criminal record.  That's not how things are conducted, and didn't ask the police about any of the other potential jurors. During closing arguments the attorney general was stating things that were never mentioned during the trial. These are just some of the things that took place during the trial.
