On April 16, 2022: In Karachi, another minor girl who was turning 14 on April 27, gone missing when she went to bin the trash downstairs at her home around 12:00 Noon. Parents lodge an FIR of their mysteriously missing daughter and after weeks of search, a so called alleged "Nikah-Nama" (Marriage Certificate) blazes the internet claiming her marriage and her age as 18 in the marriage certificate.

This was not a first case of its nature nor the girl Dua Zehra was the last child, what's new in this case is the constant effort of her parent for the recovery of their child who was just turning 14 at the time of the incident, usually, in Pakistan, parents of such missing girls do not lodge the report or follow the cases with Jury due to variety of reasons such as  defamation in the society, or, they are not Socioeconomically strong to pursue their cases in the judicial system currently working in the country, or for the fear & threats of their lives by these Mafia Gangs, etc. These girls in most cases are lured to sex trafficking.

Unfortunately, the Law enforcement agencies particularly the Police in Pakistan has a tradition of supporting or act as an facilitators to these mafias rather then the victim or their families specially in these issues, often create hinders, or, do improper investigation to weaken the cases , these authorities don’t even recognize the kidnappings as such and instead dismiss them as elopements without an inquiry, same can be seen in Dua Zehra case. After 51 days of disappearance of the girl, and the Suspension of the Top Officer of the Police, the IG of the Sindh province by the High court, She finally brought into the court, but surprisingly the accused were never questioned by police and  in the fraction of hours The Honorable Jury in this case were forced to take vacations and the newly appointed Jury of the High court of Sindh ignoring the Birth Certificate, ignoring that she's been captivated for the last 51 days and can be in the highly influenced by these alleged abductor, let the girl free to decide her fate on the basis of a fake medical certificate that says she's 16, by a junior police surgeon, the same police surgeon was suspended due to anomalies in the court-mandated certificate on this case very next day of this Jury verdict. The Police forcibly set her go with the accused the alleged husband under high police shield and did not let the parents talk her even though they were meeting her after 51 days, this clearly a violation of the Human Rights, violation of the Pakistan Penal Code Laws, Family Laws, Social Laws and show the dirty face of the Police and also assert the power of these Gangs Mafias that they can easily manipulate the whole system as and when needed.

It is illegal to marry a girl below the age of 18 in Sindh and 16 in Punjab respectively. So, Punjab is the favorable area for these Mafias to move the abducted minors to and present a marriage certificate if the media catches the case. So, this 14 year girl Dua Zehra abducted from Karachi and found in Lahore some 1200+ KMs away from her hometown, when the news spread on the social media, an alleged marriage certificate appears in a few weeks declaring that she had run away from her home to marry 21-year-old Zaheer Ahmed, a story to mislead and hide the crime.

Although, her parents are approaching Supreme Court, the highest court in Pakistan against the Sindh High Court Verdict take the custody of their daughter until the case is decided in the Trial Court. We express our solidarity with Dua Zehra and her parents and want to support this noble cause with the hope to quash & expose these traffickers and their supports.

Through this petition, we urge the legislative authorities in Pakistan (National Assembly), the Federal Shariat courts (For Invalidate these types of Nikah Certificates) & the Supreme Court, to form a uniform law across the country, no child marriage (under 18) should be allowed in the country & stop these mafias to abuse the law and use Nikah Nama (Marriage Certificates) as a shelter to hide the crime.

Last but not least, in Dua Zehra case, we urge Supreme Court of Pakistan to set-a-side the impugned judgement of the High Court of Sindh and give Direction for a free and fair trial of this case in the Trial Court, and recover Dua Zehra from their captivation and send her back to her Parents/Shelter home until the case is decided.
