The Issue

Justice for Domestic Animals -
We the people have had enough...we are standing up for those who don't
have a voice and we are demanding justice and punishments that are
upheld in court that truly fit the crime for animal abuse, neglect and
cruelty. Not warnings, probabation and minimal jail times.

An estimated 10 million animals die of cruelty and abuse EVERY YEAR
in the United states. This is the abuse that is reported, many cases are
never reported and the crying and pleading of the animals suffering is
never to be heard other than by the abusers himself/herself. Every
state has felony provisions within its animal cruelty laws, but what normally happens to the
abuser is nothing more than warning, probation or very limited jail time. The abuse is then repeated and
repeated without fear or thought of any consquence or punishment for the abuser (s).

We the people are standing up, we are the voice for the thousands of animals (Dogs, Cats, Horses, Birds etc.)
suffering. We the people demand stronger consquences and punishment for those found guilty of these crimes including,
but not limited to: Abuse, neglect, cruelty, starving, depriving of food, water and shelter, baiting, dog fighting, training for
fighting, housing training dogs for fighting, kicking, hitting, punching, hitting an animal with objects, tethering, chaining,
Killing, torturing, intent to cause mental and/or physical suffering or trama. Not supplying proper shelter which
includes: dog houses suitable for each dog according to their size, lots of straw in and around those dog houses for warm
and bedding and absolutely out of the elements and proper shade in the summer and storms, along with adequate food
and fresh water at all times that is easy for the dog / cat / Horse / cow/ birds etc. to get to.

5,000 cases of animal abuse are reported in Michigan every year alone...5,000 that number should haunt you. . This
heart wretching fact escalates when we come across cases where dogs, cats and horses are returned to the very same
abusive owners that they were previously rescued from. One such case has sparked outrage in the community of Sterling
Heights, Michigan where a dog (German Shepherd Puppy) was given back to the same person who was formally
detained and charged for animal cruelty of this very dog.

Our community is deeply disturbed by handing over innocent animals back to the hands of those who showed them
nothing but cruelty, brutality, abuse and neglect.

This and many other incidents are haunting reminders that animals have rights and deserve protection. We demand
change, we demand stronger laws to be ENFORCED AND FOLLOWED THROUGH to protect those without a voice. (The
Michigan Penal Code Act 328 of 1931 : 750.50b).

We are demanding that mandatory sentencing must be followed through in the courts and with each and every Judge in
every Jurisdiction..NO EXCEPTIONS and those responsible are TRULY charged and held accountable.

(ie: First offense: Found Guilty of Cruelty, neglect, dog fighting, baiting, abusing, starving any domestic animal
Mandatory: 90 days - 2 years in jail minimum, $2,500 fine, They may not own or have another animal for 7 years, 500
Hours of community service and your name, city and state, along with your photo posted on an Animal Cruelty Offender
Registry that is easily accesible. NO exceptions, NO Leniency period).

Second Offense: 1-5 years in prison minimum, $10,000 fine, They may NEVER own or live in a house or on the property
with another domestic animal, 1000 hours of community service and your name highlighted on the Animal Cruelty
Offender Registry that is easily accesible. NO exceptions, NO Leniency Period).

We Demand Domestic Animals be considered Companions / Family , NOT property in the eyes of the court and judges.

We the people are the voices for the Thousands of innocent animals suffering at the hands of so many abusers...The time
for Change and accountablity is NOW.
