Recently, on July 2, 2023, Dixie, a three year old Lab, was shot and killed by a passing Lorain Ohio police officer when she ran out of the house across the street.  While the officer claims Dixie “came at him”, the photos show Dixie is terrified and running away from the officer.  

We would like the City of Lorain Police Service to remove this officer from the service, and charge him with animal cruelty.  We would also like the City of Lorain to move its Dog Services from the police service to a non police run no kill humane society or another non profit civilian run no kill shelter.
