OPP POLICE BRUTALITY:

This is the video of the poor deer being beaten by the cops. WARNING: It is graphic and violent.

Animal Justice has filed a complaint against @ontarioprovincialpolice officers over the cruel & likely illegal treatment of an injured deer. The public is not safe having such brutal, cruel, dangerous officers in service. These officers should be suspended immediately during the investigation of their brutality towards an innocent creature!

On September 3, OPP officers responded to a call near downtown Kenora, Ontario, concerning a deer that had a broken leg after she was hit by a vehicle. The officers decided to euthanize the animal but instead of using a safe & humane method, or calling for support as their training dictates, they violently struck the deer with the blunt end of an axe. Local residents who witnessed the horrific incident said it took over an hour for her to die.

One witness said that the police hit the deer "once & left". She claims that they"pretty much took out her eye, it was pretty much gone". They then left the deer to die in agony.

It's illegal to cause animals unnecessary pain & suffering and the police are NOT above the law. The officers responsible for this violent incident should be held accountable! They should be suspended until an inquiry can be held about their brutality. The Police are there to serve the public. I don’t want any police officer serving our province that would do something so brutal and totally unnecessary and that ignored the proper procedure. These cops decided to ignore their training and brutalize the injured deer instead. Animals, particularly those who are injured or sick, are vulnerable and should be treated humanely & in a manner that minimizes distress, injury, pain, or suffering.

The Police are not above the law and we must ensure that officers are held responsible when they cause harm to innocent animals. Police Organizations must do a thorough psychiatric evaluation before these people are hired as cops.
These cops should be fired - Period!  There is absolutely no excuse, rationalization or even comprehension for why this abuse was done. It is totally sick and unwarranted. These cops committed horrible abuse and should be charged with felony animal abuse. Cops with violent, sadistic tendencies cannot be allowed to be police officers.
