David McAtee was a 53 year old man from Louisville, KY. He was a chef and the owner of Yaya's BBQ. He was known as a "community pillar", who was a good, friendly person and loved his city. He would often feed the police in the area free of charge. David was an innocent, unarmed, black man murdered in his hometown by the police, during a peaceful protest on June 1st, 2020. During the protest, he was handing out food to the police and hours later they killed him, for no reason. Every member's body camera on the Louisville Police Department was turned off during the shooting and they left his body in the streets for more than 12 hours after his death. Keep in mind, that this same police department killed Breonna Taylor, an unarmed black woman, in her home on March 13. Over the span of 3 months, 2 black lives are senselessly lost at the expense of this police department.
