JUSTICE FOR Christopher Jack Hackett (CJ)

JUSTICE FOR Christopher Jack Hackett (CJ)
The Issue
Christopher Jack Hackett, known as C.J., 16 years old was hit by a van that left the scene of the accident. The driver 46-year-old Stephen Dolan hit CJ on August 3, 2022 and sped away leaving CJ mortally wounded and his 15 year old friend frantically calling 911 for help.
In court, prosecutors detailed how much alcohol was consumed by Stephen Dolan. The prosecutor told the Judge that Stephen Dolan is on cameras drinking 17 alcoholic drinks at different bars. District Attorney Bravero told the Judge that, "there is video that shows the defendant drinking like a half a mile away from the incident location, a mere minute before the incident, beer in his hand outside of his car dancing; and then gets back in his car and decided to drive that car." Immediately following Stephen Dolan fatally hit CJ Hackett. Stephen Dolan never stopped to check or try and help CJ, never turned himself into the police or showed remorse.
In fact, Stephen Dolan drove home and proceeded to go to work hours later as a DPW worker at Yonkers City Hall. The Detectives had to go to his job the next day and arrest him. The first words out of Dolans mouth in court to the Judge were "when can I get my tools out of my van" not any expression of remorse for his horrific, inexcusable actions.
Prosecutors say the damage to the vehicle was so extensive that there was human hair embedded in the windshield.
CJ's life was taken away by the complete and intentional disregard for human life, gross negligence, and selfish actions of Stephen Dolan. CJ's family and community will continue to grieve his horrific and tragic loss for a lifetime. Justice must be served, regardless of Dolan's privilege, and political and law enforcement connections. Stephen Dolan's father and uncle are retired City of Yonkers Detectives.
We demand that Stephen Dolan is prosecuted and sentenced to the fullest extent of the law and that he face serious consequences for his actions that took away the life of CJ. Dolan's sentence must reflect his action of driving drunk, using his vehicle as a weapon to take CJ's life, leaving the scene and not turning himself into police.
We, the undersigned, want the City of Yonkers District Attorney’s office and Judge McCarty to know that we will actively and diligently seek justice for Christopher Jack Hackett (CJ). CJ's family, friends, classmates, and community will be watching, waiting, and praying that Stephen Dolan is prosecuted appropriately for his heinous crime.
