JUSTICE FOR BRIDGES GSD
Bridges story inspired me to try and get his story out and have JUSTICE SERVED. Lauren Bjorklund is a follow rescuer and good friend . This is her account of Bridges story~please read and sign this petition~thx
This young German Shepherd "Bridges" was rescued from a High Kill shelter In georgia after he was dumped their by the parents of their teenage son that owned Bridges died of cancer. He had spent the last 3 months kept in a dark garage ONLY to be let out once aday for a bathroom break. When he arrived at the Clayton County Shelter he was scared, shaking, and cowered tail tucked behind his legs sad sad eyes.... The saddest Shepherd I have ever seen In my life. I took it upon myself to vow to him that I would NOT let him die in that shelter and myself as well as a host of people and another very good Out of state rescue stepped in to save him as well as many other people that wanted him to be safe. He was in fact spared from the gallows and was slated to go to that rescue, then abruptly that arrangement was changed and he went to a local Georgia rescue.. and thats the beginning of the spiral downwards for poor Bridges. When he was in the garage he had suffered a traumatic moment when someone tried to Muzzle the frightened dog ( not un common) and when this local GGSR tried to Muzzle him he also panicked and instead of comforting and assuring poor Bridges they threatened to euthanise him! Can you believe an animal rescue was prepared to Kill him so easily? so he was promptly returned Back to Clayton County shelter whereby someone made the decision that he would be temporaily boarded at a near by facility until he was able to be transported to the original out of state rescue that intended on taking him
The boarding facility owner for reasons Unknown to any of us used a catch pole on BRIDGES , a device commonly used by Animal control to catch oloose animals.. and His Killers story is bridges somehow bit his 5 yr. old child while resterained on this pole.. ( hightly unlikely) and he took it upon himself to shoot this poor scared dog at point blank right between the eyes two times.
This is EXCESSIVE force used upon a scared animal, in the presence of a small child who should not have been in that area to begin with. There are other measures he could have taken to control the situation,. the child was not attacked,,, and the bite was not even a serious one that needed medical attention.
I am seeking Justice for Bridges that did not deserve to die such a violent traumatic death by the hands of someone who was commissioned to Board him and provide BRIDGES this scared traumatized young Shepherd with a safe environment until he was transported to his waiting Rescue.
JOSE ORTIZ~ Owner/Operator of Paw Prints~796 Barnetts Bridge Rd. Jackson, Ga 30233 *** needs to be held accountable for his out of control OVER reaction to a situation that could have been easily prevented..and his dangerous use of a firearm in front of child, and needs to have his facility closed down and be restrained from being around other people's animals that they TRUST in his care indefinitely.
