Justice for Breann Leath

The Issue

On April 9,2020 officer Breann Leath responded to domestic violence call at the home of Aisha Brown. Aisha feared for her life as Elliahs Dorsey had been acting irate and paranoid all day. Aisha had begged for help from 911 when Elliahs took the phone from her hands and spoke with 911. Elliahs was told help was on the way. When Officers arrived officer Leath knocked twice before Elliahs stole the gun Aisha was holding to defend herself and he shot EIGHT times through the door. Two of those bullets struck Officer Leath in the head killing her, and six nearly hit the other officers on scene. Aisha still on the phone with 911 ran out of her apartment, stepped over officer Leath, and ran down one set of stairs before Elliahs Dorsey stepped from the apartment and stepped over officer Leath before firing more shots into Aisha Browns back. Elliahs then took Aisha’s phone again and begged the 911 operator to tell the police not to kill him. Like the coward he is he stepped back over Officer Leath and re entered Aisha brown’s apartment while he left her alone on the stairway bleeding. When extra units were finally able to get to Elliahs he told them the shooter ran away that it was not him.

Finally, four long years later Thursday April 5,2024 a serious mishandling of justice was served in the Marion county court house. Judge Mark Stoner ruled time served on count one wreck less homicide. This count was in reference to the gruesome MURDER of officer Breann Leath. Judge Stoner made a statement to all of Indianapolis that anyone can shoot through a door and kill one innocent mother who was doing her job, injure another innocent woman and permanently destroy a community of innocent people and receive less than the suggested sentence. Elliahs Dorsey will only spend 18.75 years in prison for his crimes not relating to murder. He then will be under 15 years mental health probation where he will be supervised by his family the same people who refused to get him any treatment to begin with. Judge stoner admitted this can happen again. Dorsey will offend again. We are asking judge stoner to step down as judge and allow the Supreme Court to reevaluate this case and many others that judge stoner has mistried. We will have justice for Breann and her family. We will have justice for Aisha brown. We will have justice for IMPD. We will have justice for Indianapolis and keep this violent man off our streets.
