HELP TURN THIS CASE OVER TO THE GBI!!

Brandon Lee Helms disappeared without a trace on a cold, rainy, December night in 2015. He took only his keys and wallet. He purportedly left on foot, despite his truck having a half tank of gas. Brandon was a heavy smoker and left behind his cigarettes. Also, his cell phone. Brandon was a doting father of two little girls with his estranged wife and living with a mutual friend of his and his wife. Brandon was reported missing by said roommate. From that moment on, the investigation was botched. Little to no forensics were collected until FOUR YEARS later. To this day, our family does not know of any findings from forensics. It has been over seven years and seven different investigators and there has been absolutely nothing discovered. The current sheriff and investigator are not following up on leads and tips. We need the State of Georgia to take over this case immediately!- the family of Brandon Lee Helms

Below is written by a frustrated family friend:

” The new investigator is doing nothing and talking to no one. No one has sent the letter from the sheriffs office requested years ago that would have a number on it that the coroners  would use to compare to unidentified bodies found. That letter is the least that they should have done; LONG AGO! The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said that they do not take over a case unless they find that the investigating agency is not doing their due diligence. The fact that that letter has not been sent to the Helms family (so that they can send it to coroners) alone is evidence of them not doing their due diligence. I actually believe the FBI should be involved as well. I only say that based on what I heard about the estranged wife and the man that she was having an affair with going to Niagara Falls when Brandon went missing and a family member of the roommate, that lived  in another state, coming during that time and posting on social media to call him or Brandon’s roommate if anyone knew anything about Brandon. It should have been notated to call the police, not them. Recently, a person searching near the home where Brandon disappeared from found a jacket in the field. That young man called the sheriff”s office to report that he found a jacket. The sheriff said he wasn’t going to do anything with “that” and instructed him  to call the police. The young man called the police, the police came by and said we’re not doing anything with that, it has nothing to do with this and left the jacket with the young man.

Family members have called their congressman and  senator; no one is returning calls, no one is sending letters, no one is doing anything; just as they haven’t done anything for years. The roommate who handed the gun to Brandon‘s parents the day they arrived said that he and Brandon were shooting guns the night before he noticed Brandon disappeared. Is that true or did he say that in case they tested his hands for gunpowder residue and found residue on his hands or noticed a gun of his had been recently fired? No one will ever know the answer to that because the police did nothing of the sort; no testing. Something really stinks. It just makes me wonder if that anonymous Tipster was true?

A member of the Helms family called to see about looking into that sinkhole they were told that there was no sinkhole on that property. We have an article that shows that that sinkhole does exist and it was drained (I can’t remember how many feet) but it was drained not long after Brandon‘s disappearance. How can that article be written, the location be identified, the conservatory mentioned and yet they say it doesn’t exist? What was drained? I’m telling you this stinks to high heaven and nobody is doing anything to hold these officials accountable! When Brandon’s parents drove to the estranged wife and her boyfriend’s home, they were sitting in their vehicle on the road, trying to ask her if they could visit the grandchildren (she would not answer their telephone calls) ; she said she’d call the police if they didn’t leave. Does she not want the grandchildren to talk because possibly they may recount something that they don’t want recalled? No one will ever know because no one‘s asking the children anything!  The sheriff said there’s no need to talk to the children. Who’s looking out for the best interest of these children? Who is looking out for the best interest of this missing person, these parents and family members? Who is looking out for the best interest of the community? An anonymous tip is called in about bodies being put in a sinkhole and all they’re being told is that there’s no sinkhole, (it  existed in the news) and now you can’t come and check? What if this was your child? What would you want done? How can we make this happen? I don’t know what the truth is but I know there are ways to get to the bottom of it.

The only answer for there being so much negligence with this case is if there are that many people involved. There just can’t be that many stupid people in these positions in one area. The only logical conclusion is that it’s corruption and the tentacles are deep and wide; just as the anonymous tip said. God forbid it goes on not being investigated! If that tipster is accurate that would mean there’s children involved and that those children are being trafficked. Please someone look into this corruption! Somebody come to the aid of the Brandon Helms family. Even if you’re just an attorney that can demand that the sheriff’s department send the letter with a DNA number so that the coroner’s can compare unidentified bodies to this missing person. I find it really hard to believe that the same roommate that told people to call him if they knew anything about Brandon‘s disappearance all of a sudden would not participate when the search team came to his nearby property to look for Brandon. Instead they say, that roommate sat in a chair waiting for someone to trespass on his property and threatened to call the police if they did. Brandon‘s estranged wife,her boyfriend, the children, the roommate, none of them were on that search party when the public came out to help. Come on people if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck; it’s a duck! Even if you don’t care about missing persons, God forbid, all should at least care about all of these officials doing absolutely nothing to help a family with a missing son, children with a missing father, siblings with a missing brother, this is just unbelievable. As Christians we should at least share his missing person poster. As Georgia community members you should be outraged and voicing it. How I pray someone comes to help Brandon Helms’ family.”
