Petition updateJustice for Bleu! Stop Dr. Daniel "God" Koller of Companion Pet Clinic: No more victims!Case Management Hearing 12/16/2019 3 PM Washington County Circuit Court Room 422J
Terry CorvallisCorvallis, OR, United States
Dec 15, 2019

This is the first pretrial hearing after his arraignment on 2 felony aggravated animal abuse and 2 misdemeanor animal abuse charges.   The reason for pretrial hearings are twofold.  The judge asks about any issues in discovery; discovery allows the defendant (Koller) access to all the evidence the prosecution is offering to support the charges. Defendants get to see police reports, witness statements, etc. Additionally, the judge asks if there have been any pleas offered in the case. We want to discourage any plea offers by letting the DA hear our voices! If you have experience with Dr. Koller please contact Beaverton Police Department. If you want your opinion heard, please sign and comment on this petition!

My opinion based on following animal abuse cases in Oregon:

Likely, there will be a number of these hearings before a trial date is set.  The court sets up hearings to get official, on docket records of how the case is moving along while defendant's lawyer prepares to defend him. For example, Koller has represented himself "pro se" in many of his civil cases. He has also fired lawyers he has hired. Reading some of the court transcripts available in Koller's previous cases, Koller is quite contentious, seeming to like to argue for argument's sake.  Previous civil cases have been stretched out for years.  I doubt that will happen in this case, but I predict that it won't be quickly resolved either.  Most cases are settled in plea agreements. Nobody wants that. Average animal abuse cases I have followed in Oregon take from 6 months to a year to go to trial.  Let's hope it goes to trial, and it does not take that long.
