Justice For Baby Alan

Justice For Baby Alan
The Issue
Our family recently received a call informing us that the man responsible for the death of my baby nephew Alan, may be released on probation or even placed on house arrest. There are no words to express the pain and disbelief we feel. How can the system consider giving this man another chance when Alan never got the chance to live even a full year, to attend his first day of school, or to grow into the person he could have become…? Two years ago my sister and her two sons went missing for three months after she said she was going out for her birthday. During those months my mom repeatedly went to LAPD Rampart Station begging for help. Each time she was told to go home because my sister was “old enough to go wherever she pleased.” My mom explained again and again that my sister had taken no clothes and no milk for her nd 2 kids one being an infant.. something she would never have done voluntarily. The detective assigned to the case even admitted she knew where my sister was, but claimed she had “no reason” to knock on the door. Days later, my sister and nephews were found at a hospital. Baby Alan was in a coma and later pronounced dead. He had been beaten repeatedly by Karim Ibarra and attacked by his dog, which was later put down. My sister suffered broken ribs, a broken nose, a broken hip, and bruises all over her body. My older autistic nephew witnessed the violence being done on my sister and baby brother.. trauma he will carry for the rest of his life. Despite the s’the abuse, the media coverage was incomplete and at times misleading. Reporters failed to mention that Ibarra’s family mom, stepfather, and siblings of age.. knew about the ongoing abuse and did nothing to stop it. They also allowed individuals with no knowledge of the situation to speak on behalf of our family covering the truth. Now, after everything that happened, we are being told that this animal with a history of abuse.. may be allowed to go home on house arrest. This is not justice, accountability, nd this is not protection for future victims. We are asking for your support to keep Karim Ricardo Ibarra where he belongs behind bars. Baby Alan deserves justice. Our family deserves justice. And our community deserves safety. Please sign and share this petition to help us prevent his release and ensure that Baby Alan’s life is not forgotten.
Thank you for standing with us. #JusticeForBabyAlan
