Recently, an ER RN was brutally attacked by Karla Hardy, a patient whom she was trying to help. Due to the attack, she has sustained severe injuries, in which she has accumulated medical debt, not to mention emotional trauma and loss of time from work.

The perpetrator, Karla Hardy, was arrested and released on bond. So, she’s been out, back into the general public. Free to go about her life without care or consequence.

Violence against healthcare workers is a widespread and growing phenomenon that goes without consequence nearly every single time. Heinous things are done to those who spend their lives caring for others. It needs to stop. 

I’m petitioning for Karla Hardy to be prosecuted to the fullest extent that the law allows in the state of North Carolina.
