Justice for Anthony Padilla
The Issue
Anthony Padilla, a cherished father of 2 , family member and friend was tragically murdered in the Village East Apartment buildings' public 24 hr laundry mat in Colorado Springs, CO in which he was a resident. His life was taken by his neighbor, a self-proclaimed vigilante with a history of harassing and stalking Anthony and other residents of the complex.
The neighbors unfounded claim that Anthony was breaking and entry and using the laundry mat illegally led to this senseless act of violence. He tried to hold Anthony captive in the laundry room and when Anthony tried to leave he shot him in his back - an act that not only ended one life but also devastated many others .
This tragic event underscores the urgent need for justice to be served. It is unacceptable for individuals to take law enforcement into their own hands and commit such heinous acts without facing legal consequences.
We call upon local authorities in Colorado Springs to ensure that the suspected neighbor is prosecuted for his actions. We demand justice for Anthony Padilla - a man whose life was cut short due to an unjustified act of violence.
Please sign this petition if you believe in justice being served and want to support our cause against vigilantism and unregulated use of force within our communities.
A video of the incident has been obtained .Due to the sensitive nature . The video is being withheld Until we have adequate support by the public and media. the decision to realease the video is not necessary at this time . We do feel the public should know there is video evidence so that your signature and backing is not based off accusations but that of the truth!
Any donations made don't go to the family directly but to change.org .. if you do choose to donate ...it helps the site who will then promote this petition..spreading it outside of just family and friends...no donation is necessary.. your signature and sharing of this petition is much appreciated as this petition was made to tell Anthony's story and to obtain justice
