Petition Regarding ANIMAL ABUSE by Bay County Animal Control in 2nd District.

To the Honorable Neal Dunn, 

We, the undersigned residents of Bay County Florida, and constituents of your district, are

writing to express our deep concern regarding Animal abuse perpetrated by Animal Control.

Example 1. Animal Control wrongfully seized a dog that was charged for killing a neighbors dog and was euthanized.

Example 2. Animal Control was informed there was a mother cat and kitten that were in a trap exposed to the elements kitten was found deceased, the mother cat was euthanized.

Example 3. Animal control was called about a dog being loose in the neighbors yard, the dog had killed chickens and the owners told animal control that the dog would be taken to pound to be euthanized but later in the report the homeowner killed their own dog and buried it and was told by bay county animal control to provide proof of the dog through photos and burial.

The current situation with Bay County Animal Control has caused great concern within the community and

their ability to trust Bay County Animal Control to have the animals well-being at heart.

We have observed a significant increase in animal seizures, for false claims of bites, animals euthanized being deemed as diseased or feral which causes great distress within animal owners and communities in our county.

The lack of adherence to local ordinances by Bay County Animal Control has affected local pet owners and rescues the ability to enjoy the love, safety, and companionship that an animal brings. 

We the people of Bay County Fl believe that immediate action is necessary to address the wellbeing, protection, and to bring justice for all of the animals that live here.

Therefore, we respectfully request that you:

* Investigate Animal Control.

* Remove anyone found to be participating in the above abuse.

* Initiate a Board Of Directors overseen by local Animal Advocate Groups/Constituents of Bay County.

We urge you to consider the impact of these and several other issues that Bay County faces every day and to take swift and decisive action to resolve it. 

We are confident that your leadership will make a positive difference.
