Petition updateJustice for Alfie - A Call for Fair School Admission DecisionsThe Search for 100,000 Supporters, and an Update.

Thank you all for supporting Alfie, it means a huge amount to him and his family.  To have over 93,000 supporters is truly breath-taking.

The time for starting school is coming closer, the reality of Alfie’s exclusion is really hitting home.  Alfie will soon be passing the bus stop where all his friends go to the local comprehensive, in a taxi on his own on the way to a school on far side of the city.

The local authority has not even acknowledged our request for a discussion.

As the local authority are not engaging, we need to shine a light on the situation through the media.  Reaching 100,000 supporters is, almost unbelievably, a realistic prospect and will be newsworthy.

I am a little embarrassed to ask given what you have already done, but if we could just speed up the last little step to 100,000 it would help us to bring more pressure sooner.  Perhaps you signed but didn’t share or there is somewhere else you could share?  We are so nearly there!  Is there anywhere else you could share the petition?

Update

Alfie’s MP, Ruth Jones is following up with the authority and we understand that his MS (Welsh Government) Jayne Bryant has also been in touch.  Education is devolved in Wales; the responsible minister is Jeremy Miles MS.  We are waiting for a response from his department.

If you could help Alfie with a leg up to 100,000 supporters, that would be fantastic.

Thank you!
