We are college students that attend the University of California, Davis and we currently DO NOT get meals at the dining commons on the weekend. Don't get me wrong Davis is a great school, but the dining commons accommodations are just not it. I am apart of several thousand first year college students who do not have an open dining common in the Cuarto and Tercero dorm community. I know of several students including myself who are part of the 7 day meal plan and they don't the equitable resources to go home to get food. Only one dining hall is open on the weekends, Segundo Dining Commons and they have very little vegetarian and halal options in general. They also close at early timings at 8 pm on the weekend. All of these students are paying for the 7 day meal plan and it was never told to us that only one of the dining commons would be open on the weekend. UC Davis should have all the dining commons open on the weekend.
