Stop the body shaming of young girls by the Justice clothing store.

The Issue

My seven year old daughter was absolutely traumatized and embarrassed by the staff at justice mic mac mall. We went swim suit shopping last Saturday, which can be a difficult and stressful experience as my daughter is not shaped like an "average" 7 year old. How ever, this time was different, she found a swim suit that really faltered her body. I watched her face light up with a huge smile, she felt so good and confident in that swim suit and was thrilled to show it off. We had to play with the sizes to obtain this perfect fit, which is rather common for most females to  buy a  different size top and bottom in swim wear, or in any clothing really. My daughter needed a size 16 on top and a size 14 on the bottom. Thinking nothing of it, I set aside the two peices and hung up the rejects and we continued to shop. I noticed a staff member pointing at us holding the reject pile in her hands, I ignored this and proceeded to the cash. A different staff member was ringing us up, as this was happening the other staff member who had the reject pile stopped ringing in her customer came to my swim suits and started flipping them inside out and held up the tags, showing the different sizes in our faces. My daughter is seven, she was scared and mortified, I explained yes I knew that the sizes were different as that's how the suit fits her best. The staff member repsonded " that's what the mix and match is for" as she pointed to a small rack of inappropriate for a seven year old bikinis. I looked down at my daughter whose once proud head was hung to the ground, her red cheeks, I wanted to yell and cry for her. The store absolutely refused to sell us the swim suit with the different sizes, we left with nothing but heart break. I couldn't believe what just happened, I thought for sure a call to corporate would fix this but that wasn't the case, all they offered me was a coupon. I wasn't looking for a coupon or money, I was looking to right a wrong not only for my daughter but for all girls who this has or will happen to at this store. Please join me in telling Justice we will not stand for our young girls being body shamed and excluded by ridiculous policies. This store claims to be about girl empowerment and for all girls. This was clearly not the experience we had this time. My daughter is still sad about the experience and said she can't trust justice anymore....her words. This was so unfair and needs to change.
