Eddie Obeid is not my family, he is not my business partner
but Eddie Obeid is my friend.
Eddie has changed the course of many peoples lives including my own and the majority of people will think i am bias however i always believe there are two sides to the story.
The biggest problem here is the media. They showcase the bad extremely well - but what about the good?
This media witch hunt has been going on for far too long and the personal vendetta that Kate McClymont has against Eddie has fuelled an unnecessary fire.
The imprisonment of Eddie Obeid is a disgrace, it's a disgrace to the NSW justice system and it's a disgrace to the Lebanese community.
A successful Lebanese politician was just to much for some and i'm calling discrimination. Do we remember the Barry O'Farrell wine debacle? Where is he now? - Mumbai according to his latest tweet - why not Jail? Could it be that Barry was born in Australia and not Lebanon? Had he been Lebanese, Greek, Syrian or Italian, could that $3,000 bottle of wine landed him in Jail?
What about Bronwyn Bishop?
The truth is discrimination is highly prominent here in Australia, it happens all to often and the government is the worst offender. There has been far too many cases that discrimination is such a big day to day problem.
Eddie Obeid is an honest, caring, loving and hardworking man - he doesn't deserve this harsh punishment.
We call all Australian's to research before you comment, speak without bias, don't listen to media reports and then join us to help Free Eddie Obeid.
