10 Years Held Hostage: Who’s Liable?
Despite rigorous efforts in reaching out to Greek Parliamentarians since March 21st, 2017, aimed at seeking a resolution to the ongoing Hostage crisis, pertaining to the seizure of my freedom by Greece, to date, no aid has been forthcoming.
Thus, I have paid another in-person visit to their respective offices on November 16th, 2023, to reiterate the urgency of the matter to them in person. Read my extensive article here for more details:
Takeaways:
- Given the limited likelihood of assistance from MP Makis Voridis’s office, which was visited in January, I have turned to another New Democracy affiliate, MP Theodoros Rousopoulos, on this occasion. They are among the very few whose offices are in proximity to my location outside the UNHCR office.
- In 2023 alone, I have emailed their office at least four times regarding this urgent matter. Moreover, in the MP’s absence, I underscored the authorities' ongoing hostilities toward this issue and urged the MP’s assistance through his adviser to ascertain the nature of these occurrences.
- Additionally, I sought to ascertain if Greece’s legal system typically allows holding people captive without food and water to make them starve, while also concealing their plight. Although they didn't provide clear answers, they ultimately agreed to investigate the matters and respond accordingly.
