Although I have been in frequent contact with two former UN Secretary-Generals, Ban Ki-moon and Kofi Annan, through their foundations for years, asking them for mediation and humanitarian assistance, they have not responded to any of my correspondence until January 2023.

Their disappointing response aside also none of these two foundations neither condemned nor denounced this hostage-taking and the horrific circumstances surrounding it, which have been going on for nearly a decade in Greece with purely political motives.

This is despite the fact that both of these organizations are political and claim to intervene in political and social issues that impact the lives and livelihoods of people.
