Waste Management has served Jupiter residents for more than 40 years.  In its recent Request for Proposal process, the Town’s Selection Committee unanimously ranked Waste Management #1 in terms of Experience, Safety and Customer Service --- far outdistancing two other competitors.  The Town Council, however, voted 3 to 1 on November 1 for an admittedly disruptive change to Advanced Disposal, which ranked a distant third.

Why?  On the surface, price.  Waste Management proposed a monthly rate of $12.45 (42 cents more than the current rate) and Advanced $8.45.

But in life…you get what you pay for.

Advanced Disposal proposed 7 fewer trucks (39% less service capacity); 12 fewer employees (40% less manpower) and even left out yard waste collection in parts of Abacoa.

A recent scientific survey of Jupiter residents found:

•             90% of Jupiter residents believe Waste Management should continue to provide their waste and recycling services

•             Nearly 8 of 10 residents said that a 42-cent a month increase was reasonable

•             Almost two-thirds of Jupiter residents said they would prefer to keep Waste Management for $4 more a month over the competitor’s price

MORE DOLLARS AND SENSE: In fact, the Town of Jupiter would lose $162,000 in annual fees by making the switch to Advanced Disposal.  And Jupiter businesses would pay the same rate as today but get the #3 ranked service provider.

If you’d like to retain the superior services of Waste Management, please call (561-741-2214) and email your Town Council members TODAY:

And please, attend the Jupiter Town Council meeting on Tuesday, November 15 at 7 pm at City Hall, 210 Military Trail.  Your Town Council will take a final vote that night.

This is your last chance to keep Waste Management and its drivers servicing the clean and green Town of Jupiter.
