There is so much to be done in our world to dismantle systemic racism and create a system that provides equity to everyone. At this time, we have to begin with the place that we live, Juniata College.

Despite the cries and pleadings of oppressed groups asking for Juniata's administration to do better and make necessary changes to dismantle their own institutionalized discrimination, we have seen no action from the administration. E-mails from the administration have been sent out, but nothing has come from them. It is necessary for the college faculty and staff to hold themselves accountable for making this change and shifting the undue burden from the students to themselves. It is time that we publicly recognize the capabilities, aptitude, and immense power of the Juniata College administration and the wealth of knowledge they have to enact change. We know that they can do better.

We only see Black students attempting to make changes for themselves. So from this point forward, we resolutely stand in agreement that the Juniata College institution must take responsibility to continuously and swiftly make changes to the framework of their institution.

JC families, current students, alumni, friends, faculty, and anyone else who wants to take a stand against injustice can sign this petition to show the Juniata College administration that we want the contents of the "Diversity Recommendations List" to be recognized and enacted.
