Juneteenth and Volusia County Government

Did you know that with exception of President’s day and Columbus day, Volusia County Government recognizes, observed, and celebrates nine (9) of the eleven (11) federal holidays. They also recognize, observe, and celebrate one (1) non-federal holiday, Good Friday, which is not a federal holiday but is observed by twelve (12) of the fifty (50) states, including Florida. They do not recognize, observe nor celebrate President’s day, Columbus day and Juneteenth. 

I’m asking you to please read and sign this petition if you believe that Juneteenth should be recognized by Volusia County Government.
