DBAs are verbal assessments and are often the most dreaded assignments for FLVS students. Instead of comfortably typing essays and worksheets on their laptops, students communicate with an instructor one-on-one over the phone. Students with anxiety or any student at all knows that DBA’s are the worst thing about Virtual School. They are uncomfortable, awkward and honestly makes me want to quit Virtual School. The teachers are rude over the phone, and ask questions that were never on the lesson, which makes students very uncomfortable. I’ve even had a teacher yell and get upset with me because I didn’t know much of my DBA questions (It was my first time ever doing a DBA). I am on my second year of doing FLVS and doing DBA’s have not become comfortable with me at all. It would make me the happiest student ever if FLVS would just get rid of DBA’s and offer that students do things such as scan our notes with our phone or camera and send it to out to our teachers. Please help me achieve this goal of getting rid of DBA’s.
