The Issue

Juice WRLD is one of the biggest artists of 2018 to come out of Chicago. Since his recent and sad passing, Brooklyn had a statue of him already in the Brooklyn Museum and it should be brought back permanently for the impact he has had on people that deserves to be honored.

The city of Chicago could also honor him by putting a statue as a tribute to his contributions to society, this would be perfect for the upcoming public tribute which is being planned by his family and label.

Juice WRLD helped numerous people talking about sensitive topics such as addiction, anxiety, depression and breakups in his music.

In 2019, Spotify’s in-house team created what they call the RapCaviar Pantheon, where they sculpted four of the biggest breakthrough artists of 2019 and the most impactful ones.

“Through Pantheon, Spotify equates the art form of rap to the origins of art and civilization. Much like the ancient Greeks, rap has a pantheon of icons, names that are forever etched into culture, and songs that no one will ever forget. This year’s honorees will forever be part of hip-hop’s cultural fabric.” —From Spotify’s website.

Juice WRLD was one of them alongside Gunna, Cardi B and Jaden Smith - but the sculptures were only available for a limited from April 3-7 of 2019. With this petition, we are trying to bring back the statue that represents his legacy & impact on hip hop & people in exhibit.

Juice WRLD’s blurring of the lines between hip-hop, pop, rap, and emo makes him a breakout in every sense of the word—not to mention his debut single, “Lucid Dreams,” which has over 700 million streams on Spotify. His sculpture is inspired by the idea of mythological Greek Titan Atlas—who was condemned to carry the universe—at rest, a nod to the vulnerability in his music. — Spotify’s website.
