COVID-19 has had a negative impact on university students worldwide, causing them to be stuck at home. Many of them got infected too, many lost their family members. Now that we are seeing hope, universities are re-opening to physical classes.

Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology, Guna, has reopened physical classes under the constrained permission of the Madhya Pradesh government. This requires the students to have their and their parents' consent to return to college to resume physical classes. However, a majority of students and their families consent not to return due to their concerns, which should be respected. The university administration is denying any support whatsoever to the non-consenting party for online examinations, leaving no option for them but to return.

Several other sister colleges of JUET (Noida and Waknaghat) have permitted students to come or stay at home by choice. We find ourselves forced to arrive at campus, pay for the hostel fees, and give physical examinations, and demand that this be changed and we be allowed to stay home under our personal choice to deny consent and peacefully finish the semester, including the examinations.
